Do I need special tile over radiant heat?
My bathroom currently has tile and radiant heat. I would like to rip up the ugly flooring and put down fresh tile. I want to know before I do it what to expect underneath since I have never had radiant heat before and also if I can use any kind of tile. Thanks!
Since the radiant heat warms the whole floor, no special tiles are required.
The catch is in the removing the old tiles. It is very easy to damage the radiant heat lines just under the tiles in the floor. Extreme care must be taken to avoid damaging these lines, regardless if they are electrical or water type.
